We are potentially planning a trip to Canada. Unfortunately there is not much here that an hour of Google searches & Wikipedia reading could not replace. If you are looking for a Canadian book that touches on the major cities (say you're trying to narrow down which city to visit) this would be helpful. We're looking to visit National Parks/central Canada and this did not tell me anything I did not already know from my internet research. I will be returning this book as it was a major disappointment.Product details

This book arrived on time & in great condition. Always enjoy these books, however, they don't always have either enough or any information on all of the towns I'm planning to stop in. Still love the product.
This is the 3rd DK guide I've bought (the others for Japan and Italy). DK is thorough and provides excellent information on sites, hisotry, hotels/restaurants, logistics, etc. The best parts are the wonderful photos which allow you to plan what you want to see by previewing the sites. The only drawback is the weight of the book. The photo plates make the book rather heavy; so you want to use it before you go unless you don't mind the extra weight.
Exactly what I needed for my vacation with my hubby. The perfect balance between information and pictures and travel tips.
If you only want to buy one book that you can use when you travel to Cananda, east, middle or west, this is the book. Lots of great color pictures, and quite a bit of insight into the history and great things to see and do. My only complaint is that the print is very small, and I am having to use a magnifying glass to read parts of it. I guess they decided to reduce the size of the print, instead of increasing the number of pages.
I like the DK Eyewitness Travel Guide series because these books are more than just "Here's the best hotel/restaurant/attraction." There are descriptions of the states/provinces/counties including detailed maps. There are summaries of the country's/local area's history and culture. Attractions such as buildings or towns have detailed expanded diagrams showing the significant features.
You can never go wrong with DK Eyewitness Guides. This guide is excellent! As usual, full of photos and extraordinary recommendations. A must if you are planning going to Canada. From money exchange to markets & traditions, this guide will definitively help you to understand the different culture of Canada and how to make the most of your visit by avoiding common mistakes.
I was directed by a review to this when I was ordering the Milepost for a planned trip to Alaska and NWT in Canada. Was expecting a Milepost like book but it is not. Found a few errors in this book from places I have traveled before in Canada, so not too sure about 100% accuracy. It is not a Milepost and has excluded more smaller communities then I expected. Some very interesting history and things new to me. It works as a quick and dirty reference one can keep in the vehicle for more general rather then specific info.
